Blessing Art

Camilla creates these 12X12 acrylic, on canvas collages one at a time. You can specify colors and elements that you would like incorporated into your custom designed blessing art. Email Camilla: camilla@partyfaceinvitations.com and detail what you have in mind... or tell her a little about yourself or whom you wish to give the blessing art to and let Camilla create from her heart for you.
Camilla's Blessing Art is inspired by the Dutch tradition of Hex Signs. Hex Signs are the opposite of what the name suggests and are a protection, blessing or a positive intention for the home or barn that it adorns. Unlike a traditional Hex Sign, Camilla's Blessing Art is a mixed media of acrylic paint, illustrations from vintage books, clippings from magazines, photographs and acrylic paint. Hex Signs are usually round and created on a piece of wood. Camilla's Blessing Art is a round shape on a square canvas and will grace any home in which it is displayed in the same manner as the classic Hex Sign.

Interview with Josh Crews - developer behind Party Face Invitations
I can not say enough good things about our web developer, Josh Crews. He did a brilliant job on our website and guided us in directions that we couldn't see until he showed us. Josh is a great teacher, patient, easily accessible and honest. I just had to ask him a few questions because I think he is just amazing!

Where did you get the name "Ruby on Rails"?
I think I ought to change this--it sounds like the name of a drag queen! "Ruby on Rails" is the name of the programming language and framework I use to build websites and web software quickly. You can check it out at http://www.rubyonrails.org. On my website I used to say, "So you've heard of Ruby on Rails... give me call" because people were finding by searching for that term. I think I'll update that part of my website to say something else.
What inspired you to own your own business?
I think I have the soul of a 1600's English Puritan who desires to run his own craftsmanship business. Back then it would have been metal-working, or doors; but I live in the 21st century and enjoy creating software and websites.
What's your favorite coffee house beverage or treat?
I am delighted to have a regular coffee and coffee cake from a place like Sweet 16th Bakery in the neighborhood.
Where do you see your business 5 years from now?
In 5 years, I would like to have a team of 4-5 employees all working from the huge house we bought to renovate near Dickerson Rd. I'd like some of them to be teenage boys that can be apprenticed to learn a profession/craft (software development). I have a heart for helping young guys develop into workers, leaders, husbands, and fathers. (As opposed to video-gamers delaying becoming men into the mid-30's.

Meet the Artist

Camilla Spadafino is a Nashville,Tennessee artist who has a passion for throwing parties and creating invitations. These one of a kind art pieces are then scanned, photos are incorporated, and text is included to create custom pieces of work just for you! She works on both her watercolor invitations and fine art from her studio in her Nashville, Tennessee home.
Camilla's art is inspired by her family, especially her two children, her two nieces and her darling nephew! Many of the invitations and announcements at Party Face Invitations were created for them.
